Esoteric Temple Space 

　

The purpose of this document is to provide information to potential temple members in relation to the functioning of the temple. Please take the time to read through this carefully before submitting your application.

 

Applications

TOTEMS is open to accepting applications from males with varying degrees of esoteric, spiritual, and magickal knowledge. We have a minimum age requirement of 21 years although rare exceptions can be made for those 18 years of age and over and will be considered based on overall maturity of the applicant.

 

Logistics

We are a practicing lodge and tribe that meets fortnightly on the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane for learning and development, group rituals, and ceremonies. The temple isn't hierarchical but it does have a structure of three grades, that all members must complete.

TOTEMS Membership

One can make an application and once it has have been received, a face to face meeting will be organised or an invite to a gathering will be offered, and shortly after this you will be advised if you have been accepted into the temple as a probationary member for 3 months allowing for both the temple and yourself to get a feel if the group is right for either party. During the 3 months you will be required to participate in as many TOTEMS TEMPLE gatherings as possible and complete your grade 0.

This may be online or in the Temple, as required due when Covid Restrictions are in play.

Costings:

TOTEMS Membership is Free for your first years membership.

We do ask you pay $15.00 each gathering.

We also accept donations and there is a donation box at each gathering to place an offering.  

​

We also have a tradition of bringing a plate of food along to share together, this can be

anything from hot dishes to sweets.

Values/Code of Conduct

TOTEMS is based on a values system that encourages the ongoing development of all individuals within the temple and the temple as a whole. In many ways this is like a code of conduct and it is expected that all members share and embody the values herein.

  • The Tribe – the vision is for the temple to be a place of connection for individuals to share in their journeys and allow for personal, spiritual and magickal growth. As individuals we are equal and genuinely respect and care for each other.

  • Honour – each person knows the value of personal integrity and what it means to be an example to others through the premise of actions and not just words.

  •  

  • Magickally speaking we are those on a Shamanic path, so therefore we are the warriors of the spiritual community and the guardians of sacred wisdom which must be upheld through our very way of being.

  • Confidentiality – everything lawful within the temple is to stay in the temple unless expressed permission of the person in question is given. Magickal names, addresses, information must never be shared with those outside of the temple.

  • Personal power and responsibility – we are each responsible for our own attitudes toward life, people and situations. We endeavor to be always working toward the idea of self deification, so therefore we must first own our experiences.

  • Commitment – We are committed to personal growth and strength within the Temple. It is expected that if you join the temple you will be committed to attending and being there for your sisters and brothers. A chain can only ever be as strong as its weakest link.

　

　

Our magickal view

The notion of left hand path and right hand path is irrelevant within the temple. These are limited views of a complete spectrum. Each life is different; each man is on different sections of their life’s journey. It is about the balance in one’s own self and the true motivation that is the key. The only difference between left hand path and right hand path is where one is either internalising the ‘I’ or looking to an external force for this.

TOTEMS does not  promote that any god/goddess/entity is good or evil but rather that each are equal in their own merits. The Temple essentially works with archetypes , servitors and egregores, in this respect  we are authentically exploring the true esoteric natures of our beings. Creating  self awareness ,perspective and hopefully achieving  a foundation for growth and understanding of the individuation process and the  potential that can be manifested in this physical world and in the spiritual towards Apotheosis.

The work we do is largely Jungian, Shamanic and  symbolic throughout all grades and orders. Whilst we are happy for each to have their own personal belief structure, The Temple welcomes atheists, pantheists, polytheists , Pagans, Heathens, Luciferians and Left Hand Practitioners, but the above description is what we will use as a platform within the temple for our workings.

There will also be many opportunities to share personal knowledge and experience in group discussion nights and initiate conducted ritual nights.

​

This will include personal journey work, The Shaman's JourneyTM, psychotherapy exploration, meditation processes, Dream work, Story / myth and ritual.

​

We encourage people to join the T.O.T.E.M.S  support group before applying for membership of the T.O.T.E.M.S Esoteric Temple.
